YouTube

In this session we are discussing (as the title suggests) YouTube
YouTube is an online service that allows users to upload videos to the internet.

YouTube contains "a wide variety of user-generated video content, including movie clips, TV clips, and music videos, as well as amateur content such as video blogging and short original videos" ("Youtube", 2011).  YouTube also offers live video streaming  and they are currently working on  a system that live video streaming will become a regular feature(Ahmad, 2010).

5 different sources of online video content based around a topic chosen by me(YES ME!!) are coming soon.

So it's the 6th of April and I've finally got around to adding the 5 videos from YouTube that I was meaning to for ages.
I thought about my topic for a bit and decided I'd go with the good old Very-OT-Like topic of understanding disability. I specifically went with Vision. I'm a little vision impaired (nothing serious, shortsighted and have to wear glasses all the time) being short sighted is kind of funny: I wear contacts most of the time and when people hear I have glasses it's "so what can you see?". I was talking to a friend of mine other day who I found out is colourblind and I was sort of wondering what that was like to be colourblind. you can experience these to through some of the better clips I found on You-Tube.

Just so you know, these aren't in any particular order : ).

  1. Hey nice blog, youtube clips are a great way to explain colour blindness, i had never really thought much of it, and therefore never really understood what it was like. These are a great selection of clips that come together well to explain colourblindness.
